How to get Started

Start off by deciding WHY you are in this business…it seems unnecessary, but I promise it’s important. Not just, “I need to make money for my family”. Because to be honest, you could do anything to do that. But why, THIS BUSINESS? Because you want to stay home to raise your kids, because you actually LOVE everything about this particular niche? This WHY, will drive you to actually hit your goals. So everything you feel yourself slacking, think back to your why. Consider what would happen if you didn’t have this business you love. What’s the point?

What’s your Yearly Goal?

Think about how much money you want to make this year. Is it a reasonable number? If so, raise it a bit. Make it so you have to work hard to actually hit it! You want to encourage yourself to stay consistent in work, push yourself to achieve more than you think you can!

Break it down

Now divide that number by 12 (months), this is what you need to make each month. Now break THAT down. How much do you need to make per week to hit that magic number. Now you can see what your weekly, monthly and yearly goals look like. Each week you can look back and see, did you hit that number? If not, try to make up for it the next week. What can you change to make sure you don’t miss it again? Occasionally you will miss it, and that’s okay. The whole point is to work hard to TRY to hit that goal. The more you’re working at it, the more likely it is. So don’t beat yourself up if you don’t. And if it’s too easy, raise that goal!

Now be specific!

For each week, write how exactly what you’re going to offer to make that income a real thing! Do you plan to have a weekly product launch? Are you going to go live weekly? Do you need to update your listings on your website or etsy? Are you staying active in your groups so your fans/customers are actually seeing your posts?
Can you offer add-on items to increase the customers invoice amount? Can you send emails to previous customers showing them your new products?

Staying consistent in posting on your social media accounts is vital! I personally use Tailwind to schedule the majority of my posts across 3 platforms (pinterest, facebook,and instagram) this tool is a lifesaver!

When using tailwind you can create posters or memes specific to your niche/business, made by you by using PicMonkey. Its super easy and affordable for all the options to be available. This is what I use to create anything for my posts, and website. And for editing my product photos.
The other thing that helps me, is making sure I have a calendar right on my desk where I have written down EXACTLY what I’m going to do each day, and week to make sure I’m staying on task.
